i wanna be a wealthy writer
Here’s the thing — it IS possible for you, even though it feels far off.
If you’re a copywriter who’s started a business, and you’ve yet to feel like you’ve settled into the “ooh, yeah, this feels like what dreams are made of” kinda territory, you’re in the right place.
Did someone tell you that wealth is reserved for GO-BIG course creators who capitalize on not-actually-passive passive income?
Did someone say that done-for-you copywriting is only “scalable” if you build an agency?
Did somebody tell you that sales are only possible if you become an expert at selling?
I don’t believe any of that is true. In fact, I know it’s not. Because I built to multi-six-figures as a done-for-you copywriter without any of that.
And I’ve tried ALL of it only to find that it made me feel anything but wealthy, no matter what number was on the top line OR bottom line of my P&L.
Now I’m on a mission to help talented, heart-centered writers like you stop banking their success on the “plug-and-play blueprint of the perfect business model” (that never really works out that way), to stop thinking that someone else’s version of success is the way to happiness.
Instead, it’s time to start defining and achieving the kind of Wild Wealth that comes from keeping your sights set on what YOU WANT out of your business rather than hitting random milestones or building a business beast that’s more BIG than beyond your wildest dreams.
I don’t just want you to build a business to build a business. I did that, and it got me nowhere. Now I’m here to help you fill your bank account and your soul with the work you choose to do and how you choose to do it.
Ya with me? Keep on reading.
Hustlers go HARDER. The Wealthy lean back.
The Wealthy Writer life looks like:
You probably started a business because you envisioned a version of “better” for yourself and your life.
Whether it was better income than you’ve made before, better fulfillment, better access to freedom, or maybe just better than the examples you’ve seen set before you…
… the reality is — you start a business to pursue YOUR version of wealth.
The Kinda Wealthy You Can FEEL Copywriter
What if you COULD trade what everyone else TOLD you would help your business succeed for a path that makes you FEEL WEALTHY as you making more money with your copywriting business?
The MGB Copywriter life looks like:
Here’s the REALLY frustrating part of being in this place: You might find yourself here EVEN WHEN you know the online business world like the back of your hand.
You’ve listened to the podcasts, you’ve taken the courses, you’ve got freebies out the wazoo and are no stranger to “scalability” and how people make money in this weird online business world.
But you STILL catch yourself wondering, but how are people REALLY doing this? Because I’m hustling my butt off and seemingly getting nowhere.
Marginally-Getting-By Copywriter
i want to apply
And you’ll be able to build a business that doesn’t just look legit, but actually feels fulfilling and dreamworthy day in and day out.
It looks like cold emailing until your fingers bleed because someone told you that was the way to get clients.
And if THAT’S your day-to-day, there’s no wonder you don’t think you can 10x your income, because it feels like you’d have to 10x your effort that are already steering you toward burnout.
It looks like knowing and hitting your numbers consistently, no longer guessing what your “success” is and GOING AFTER the wealth you truly want in your life.
When WEALTH isn’t just what you’re working towards, but is your actual DAY-TO-DAY, tangible things start to change while your entire perception shifts as you experience it, too.
I stepped away from teaching high school and said,
“I’m a copywriter!” for the first time in June of 2018.
I had 3 paying clients one week later.
From that point, I continued to book out my services 4-6 months in advance for the next 3 years with women in business who lit my soul on fire like…
PLUS, the revenue I brought in through my “little business” allowed my family to do things like:
“Jess, I just wanna do what I’m passionate about!” - said almost every heart-centered entrepreneur, ever. I’ve heard it time and again.
Listen, I believe that you believe that. But HERE’S WHY I want you to start dismantling that as your only aim and desire, asap.
Because even if you don’t think you’re in it for the money —
… you say it’s about the freedom.
… you claim you want fulfillment.
… you just want the flexibility.
All those f-words REALLY come back to dollar signs.
Are you bringing in enough money to make you feel safe and like you have options? Do you know how to go get more money if you need it or want it? That’s where freedom can be found.
Are you bringing in the right clients who help you feel fulfilled — a.k.a. Respect your expertise and talent enough to pay you? Money.
Are you able to truly be flexible with your time? The only way you can take time off without worrying yourself into a tizzy is to have enough money to make it feel fun, doable, more than okay.
And if you’re really honest with yourself, you know the question that keeps your brain spinning at midnight on a Tuesday is:
“How are other people MAKING SO MUCH FREAKING MONEY,
and how the heck can I do that?!”
Money is a TOOL to unlock all of those f-words for you.
But if you want to make money AND have all of those things (a.k.a. FEEL WEALTHY), it takes a lot more than religiously following somebody else’s business growth track… especially when it doesn’t match up with running a done-for-you copywriting business.
I had my first $5k month in my second month of business. But did I feel wealthy? Heckkkkk nooooo.
I also had my first $30k month a little less than two years into business. But did I feel wealthy? Oddly enough, still no.
See, if money means you have “choices,” then I think WEALTH is the feeling of confidence that comes when your choices are leading you to exactly what you want.
It’s the breath of fresh air that comes with knowing you’re on your way instead of being stuck in quicksand, never gaining traction.
And that’s the journey I want to help you move through. I don’t just want to help you hit milestones, I want to help you create the business that allows you to feel successful (feel WEALTHY, even!) at every milestone along the way to the success you name for yourself.
Can we make a pact here and now?
Let’s stop going for what someone else deems “business growth” and instead make sure every step moves us in the direction to get us more of what we want.
That will mean more revenue for you (and I can totes help you do that), but it’ll also mean feeling like you’re LIVING YOUR DREAM while you’re on your way to it.
I operated on the belief that I’d make it because I would simply be “the hardest working one in the room.” It’s how I made it in sports. It’s how I made it in music. But the things I was REALLY naturally good at? I actually worked less for. The grades came naturally. The 15-page papers essentially wrote themselves.
But for some reason I still thought, “When I work the hardest I see the most success.” And I carried that straight into my business.
It wasn’t until I was 3 months postpartum finding myself riddled with anxiety that felt like a norm to me, and my new business coach asked me, “Well, Jess, what do you REALLY want from this?” — that I realized I couldn’t answer that question.
I gave myself a few weeks, trying so hard to see it (imagining Noah from The Notebook asking me “WHAT DO YOU WANT”), and I truly didn’t have an answer. I didn’t even know how to access one.
So, I wanna pose that question to you:
What do you WANT from your business?
Not what do you want your business to be, but WHAT DO YOU WANT from it?
Can you answer that?
That’s the question that began my thread by thread unraveling. She’d ask, “Well, what makes you feel happy?” And I’d think, “When other people say I’m doing a good job.” She’d say, “Do you believe you’re good at what you do?” And I’d think, “Well, so and so says I’m good at it so I must be.”
I couldn’t for the life of me conjure up happiness, desire, fulfillment that existed outside of an external metric.
That’s when it hit me — maybe I felt endlessly lost because I was running with everything I had on everyone else’s path. Maybe I didn’t ever celebrate my success or really feel it because I hadn’t stopped long enough to paint the picture I was hoping to hit.
That’s when I knew the success I wanted felt so far away not because I was failing, but because I didn’t even know how to name what I was aiming for.
And if that “started my business and immediately booked out with clients” story kinda makes you wanna punch me in the face, I have totally been there.
Hearing other people’s success stories, I’ve caught myself thinking, “Well, THAT SOUNDS NICE, but it came easy for her.”
And even though I experienced “success” on paper fairly quickly after starting my business, the whole-dang-time I was stuck in a spiral of, “This is all just dumb luck, right? It’s a total fluke, this will never last.”
To be honest with you, I can’t IMAGINE how much further faster my business would have grown if I not only showcased my expertise, but actually BELIEVED IT TO BE TRUE, myself.
Instead, I thought it was all a fluke because I didn’t believe in myself and because I was putting all of my effort into building something that looked “good enough” instead of something that filled my life with more of the things that filled me up.
For almost 3.5 years, the relentless pursuit of “business growth” drove my business. I told myself it was personal growth, too, but in all reality, I was achieving my way out of what really needed to change.
I’m afraid you’ll miss the success you’re bringing to life on the daily.
I’m afraid you’ll miss the glimpses of a life beyond your wildest dreams — or that you’ll miss the fact that you’re already standing in the middle of it because your mind is stuck in someone else’s dreamscape.
And the reality is, a “success coach” who frankly hasn’t delivered a 1:1 service to a client in years… if EVER… might help you “optimize things to scale.” But despite the fact that “scaling” feels really sexy, speaking as someone who’s tried ALL the optimizing, I know you can’t optimize your way into the perfect life and business when you’ve never really defined it for yourself before.
I learned very early on from a lot of other business coaches, and I ACTIVELY avoided the copywriter world out of fear. But avoiding my actual industry kept me from brainstorming how to get more out of what was ALREADY working for me — writing for clients. That’s what I want to help you maximize.
Because you can’t “optimize” a business by simply creating a new one — which is what tends to happen when you work with a coach who teaches only passive income and doesn’t get the unique things we deal with as copywriters.
Here’s what I know: You’re a copywriter for clients and you want big things for your life.
And here’s what I’ve learned: BIG THINGS are possible with the business you have right now.
A WILDLY WEALTHY LIFE is possible with the business you’ve courageously built.
And I want to help you name your big things and clear away all the small things that will keep you from getting there — even the ones that sound like a shiny strategy on the last podcast you listened to.
I get that you may have come here with a specific goal someone else told you was success.
You want consistent $10k months.
You want high-ticket clients banging down your door.
You want to work less and make more.
You want to be the “go-to expert in your industry.”
But I’m here beyond all of those milestones and I can tell you that they don’t mean much if you don’t name what you want your business to do for your life and then allow yourself to feel the wealth you’re calling in at every moment of the journey.
While I can (and will) definitely teach you how to:
➔ get clients consistently
➔ get the right clients
➔ serve your clients in a streamlined way
➔ reach those higher-revenue months
➔ keep cultivating your skill to stay at the top of your game
➔ … and more
Yep, I totally agree.
I mean, I wish I’d set my sights on that SOONER.
Because the wildly wealthy people I know? They’re RELENTLESS disruptors. They leverage mentors who’ve been where they want to go, but they also know where they’re headed. And they’re not afraid to course-correct when they realize their pursuits aren’t getting them to that desired destination.
And I’m more than happy to be that example (and in some cases, cautionary tale) for you as you step into your very own vision.

One of my caveats to running a program for copywriters is that I would curate a group of women (sorry, #noboysallowed) who were aligned in values and vision not just with me, but with the other members of the group. This group is designed for already existing copywriters who are ready to build their business in a way that helps them BUILD WEALTH and feel wealthy on the way there (instead of just feeling like a kinda pricey hobby or just not quite enough every single month). With that in mind, I decided to employ an application process so I can ensure the vibes are impeccable.
There’s something about investing in yourself that results in crazy things conspiring. Trust me, when you make this decision, light will start shining in corners and crevices that you’ve never seen before. You’ll receive a personalized invite with a link to JOIN. Then, get hyped because our live program will begin May 30th, 2023!
If you’ve ever been inside an “exclusive community” housed in Facebook, you know that it’s the Wild West. It’s challenging to find what you want or need, and posting a question is always a question if it’ll be seen or responded to. Slack communities have a whole different vibe. It truly feels like an insider’s club, a safe space, and it’s my personal goal to make it the thing you check when you’re moving your business forward between calls.
Because I want the group dynamic to be the best part about this program, we’ll be dripping modules gradually throughout the program. BUT, I know how exciting it is to join something that can help you reach your amazing potential. For me? That always means diving right in. If that’s you, too, I’ve uploaded the FOUNDATIONAL and most important module for you, that way you can make sure that fire and motivation don’t go to waste.

The fact that this was all about *copywriting-specific biz building* hit the absolute bullseye for me. I wasn't looking for a business coach, or for a ton of skills-oriented education -- I wanted to be able to learn from a practicing copywriter who's been there and is still there!

I loved that this program opened the door to other people's copywriting businesses. There's only so much that people will publish online so it was awesome to get to talk to other copywriters and actually see what's happening on the other side. And of course, having Jess at the front of everything and learning from her years of success and experiences was game-changing.

WWWC helped me to focus my change-everything-all-at-once energy into a focused, purposeful plan. It provided structure and insight to the work I knew I wanted to do to better my sales process, onboarding, and client experience as a whole.
Thanks to Jess's advice, I ditched the lead magnet that was weaker than your most annoying fridge magnet (You know, the one that doesn't hold anything up), and created a new sales process that has made getting that "You have a new subscriber" Flodesk email a common occurrence.

I loved having a group of copywriters to meet with regularly. It was so fun to support each other and see the differences in goals each of us had. There was a good variety of experience in the group we were all able to learn from.
Each month of the program I earned a little more in revenue. This will be my highest revenue month since I started my business!

Jess held nothing back and was always honest in her feedback, thoughts, approach, etc. I value her transparency greatly.
I loved the way Jess showed up each week - she was fully present, zoned in on each individual when they were speaking, and always fully open and honest.

YOU CAN ASK THEM
Would your business feel like enough if you…
Here’s the thing: I am proud of what I’ve been able to achieve.
I got clients quickly. I gained visibility. I became known in the industry I wanted to serve. I built a brand centered around my love of iced coffee (the real dream, amiright?)
With that said, if you’re here to peep in on my perfect track to success, this ain’t it, sister.
BUT… what if you had the chance to learn from someone who won’t tell you they did it perfectly?
What if instead you finally got an inside look on everything that makes up the insides of a successful copywriting business — what worked, what didn’t, what I’d choose to fail at AGAIN, and where I’d choose a different path?
I don’t know about you, but I’m really tired of looking at the shiny exterior of everyone else’s business only to attempt to replicate it and find out it’s STILL not even close to what I want.
I can tell you that the ONLY way I’m willing to mentor amazing copywriters like you is the transparent way.
So, if you’re also done with the highlight reel antics and you’re ready to build your business to where you ACTUALLY feel like you’re on Cloud 9 (instead of just living with your head in the clouds), Wildly Wealthy Writers’ Club is for YOU. I’d be so stinking honored if you joined us.
How many people will be in this group?
I’ll only be taking 12 amazing copywriters for this cohort of WWWC. I really want this to be a tight-knit group where I can give each of you my full attention, BUT I also want there to be potential for you to find some truly ride-or-die copywriter friends, so my plan is to curate the group with that in mind. Also, I’ve GOTTA mention this: I was listening to a podcast the other day and heard the host talking about how she hosted a “group coaching program” with 92 people in it. WHAT? Not to say that’s wrong.
I just want to point out that “group coaching program” can mean a lot of things, and here it means a small, intentionally crafted group designed to mimic what some pay 10s (or 100s) of thousands of dollars for in a “mastermind.”
Heck, I’ve even BEEN in a mastermind before where I paid $10k for 90 days, and only got face time with the deliverer of the mastermind ONCE. So, HEAR ME OUT: This is NOT simply a course being taught live and calling it a group program. (Okay, rant over.)
Will I get individual 1:1 attention in this group setting?
Short answer, yes! We’ll do it in a community setting, which is how I’ve experienced the biggest leaps throughout my own business. As I mentioned above, this is called a “group coaching program,” but it will really mimic a mastermind setting in that you’ll have a “hot seat” opportunity in each group coaching call. That means you’ll get a set amount of time to ask your questions and get coached by me (Jess) and the rest of the group!
Plus, you can get DAILY coaching in our Slack community. YES, REALLY. The Slack channel is your place to get feedback, input, and encouragement so you can really move your business forward between calls.
What if I can’t make a live call?
For the sake of the integrity + privacy inside of this group, we will not be uploading recordings to your course portal. All future copywriters will have access to the portal, and we want to keep the breakthroughs and vulnerability inside of each curated group inside of the group.
With that said, if you absolutely can’t make one of our crowdsourced call times, you’ve got 24/7 access to our Slack Community where you can drop any questions/get coached in between and as you implement!
Will this program run consecutively?
Yes! We’ve woven teaching/content weeks in with implementation weeks, so even though the program will happen in 12 consecutive weeks, you’ll have plenty of time to implement and get support along the way!
What do you mean by “teaching weeks” and “implementation weeks”? What will that look like?
Great question! My biggest goal in creating this program was to create an environment where people could keep up as much as possible. And in order to do that, I know that accelerated teaching would be more profitable, but it wouldn’t be as productive. So I decided NOT to do that. Instead, I’m giving you in-between weeks to implement + solidify what we’ve learned.
Teaching Weeks will be when FRESH CONTENT drops + when we’ll have our Q&A coaching calls with hot seats designed to get you unstuck.
Implementation Weeks will be when you IMPLEMENT + APPLY.
Build the thing that might make you money?
(but might make you miserable?)
Or build your copywriting biz toward WILD WEALTH,
and feel wealthy the whole way there?
Here’s the thing. It probably feels like it’s cheaper to stay where you are right now. And in today’s economic climate, I GET THAT feeling, for sure!
But the REAL real is that no business can grow without investment.
So what are you choosing to invest? Will you spend MORE time than necessary taking orders from clients, custom quoting, shooting content in the dark to get leads, testing each and every business model and option under the sun?
Or will you invest in a process that can show you inside of a truly successful (and ever-growing) copywriting business as well as the thinking that made it happen so you can build your own?
I’ll give you a little spoiler on one of the first lessons inside of Wildly Wealthy Writer’s Club:
Any chance I got? I chose to take the inside track instead of going around the outside.
